I am delighted with the success of the two Creative Writing Classes at DKIT.

At this stage, we have over forty writers participating in the courses - from poets to screenwriters to fiction writers and memoirists as well as some who dabble in most if not all of the writing disciplines.

Thus far there have been no riots and no mass walk outs but nevertheless the workshops are stimulating, creative and fun. And we have a plan to publish the work of these writers. More on that in January.

Poet, sci-fi rhymer and novelist John W Sexton made two appearances in Dundalk last Tuesday. He read from and performed his work to a warm and appreciative crowd at the MacAnna Theatre in DKIT at lunchtime. That evening, he read from his writings and then conducted a workshop at the country Library in Dundalk town. Among the audience was the writer Mary McShane and Head Librarian Amanda Branigan who facilitated the appearance and even gave the audience and the performing sci-fi poet, cups of tea. Many thanks Amanda. Hope to have John W and possibly his alter egos Sex W Johnson and Jack Brae Curtinstall, back in Dundalk in the New Year for another sci-fi extravaganza.
